Cool MINI2 The South Downs Weekender 22-23 July 2006 (Updated 23rd March)

Hi everyone,

Welcome to The Award Winning South Downs Weekender

We have alot to live upto this year (no pressure ) after winning the SCNM award for 'Best Run of 2005' ( I hate having to tell everyone all the time....honest )
Anyway I hope you can all join us for a great weekend down in sunny West Sussex, heres a brief write up of what to expect and a few pic's of last year

Go have a chat here with other weekenders:
South Downs Weekender Chit Chat

Friday - Campsite frolics

We will be chilling out at the campsite for the night with people organising their own food and drink. Last year we all sat around having a chat and one or two drinks till the late hours of the night, however some people did regrate that in the morning
So earlier nights this year I think so we feel a bit fresher for the long day ahead.
I will also be doing the rounds for the sat night BBQ (see below)

Saturday - Run, Fun, Sun and BBQ

The run will be starting at 11am and will continue till around 4ish (Run notes can be found at the bottom of this post). Then all back to the campsite for a rest in the sun (hopefully), we have decided to stay at the campsite for this year's entertainment. We will be having a BBQ and games (anyone any good at Twister), I will be going around the campsite on the friday night to see who's interested and collect some appropriate funds for a shopping trip on sat. Hopefully the weather will hold up and we will have a fantastic night otherwise we will go to Plan B.

BBQ and Games Night

Saturday Night we will be having a BBQ and Games Night which will be great.
I will be coming around on the Friday Night to Collect £5 from each Adult (kids are Free) who would like to join in the BBQ and Games on the Sat Night, the BBQ will be organised by my sister Carla. Carla will be getting the bbq, the food, plates, cuttlery and whatever else we need on the Sat while we are on the run. Unfortuntly you will have to get your own alcohol
The Games will be Bingo, a Quiz and a few more games which are yet to be decided, there will be some prizes on offer from people like Minicab and Mini Pirate, if anybody else would like to contribute a prize just let me know.

Just a little update

Hi everyone, just so that you know that i am actully doing something

The lunch stop has now been offical changed from the last two years where we had great stops in oving
However i wanted somewhere bigger and better so I have now got the stop at Six Villages Sports Centre/Westergate Primery School in Westergate. This center/scool has a huge field, and hall for us to use, if it is great weather (which it WILL be) we can all park on the field itself and maybe have some great photo shoots and a game of footy or something like that

p.s I will be completing the run next weekend and have the final run though on the 8th July

Sunday -

Bacon surnies from Trianman's tent followed buy a great Carvery

Lee,

Please add me to the list as the grumpy old goat seemed to have forgotton about me

Ooo, I have changed the thread title to include the dates for you, hope that is OK

I find it frustrating when people post up events with just the title with no dates, and peeps had to read the first post in order to find the information, that's all

And I'll make name badges for you if you wish

Lee,

I tried booking Premier Travel Inn at Chichester and Bognor Regis, both could not accommodate me

I believe rooms are still available at PTI Arundel though, any good?

Hi Lee

Thanks, we'll be back.
I hope skittles, camping and beer are back on the agenda for next year. Oh yes, and some driving too.

As DK's hotel booking efforts are not going too well, it will be nice to see them camping.

Got it!

I'd like a tunnel tent with a separate storage/living/cooking porch with decent protection from the elements, separated from the sleeping area

Found one that is only 44.99 GBP

This post will self destruct in a bout 47 years time!
