Offline | Plenty of notice for this one to make sure we could grab a slot in the calendar. Route yet to be organised but will take in some spectacular views across the Severn Valley to the West and across the beautiful Stroud Valleys to the East. Will also take in some narrow, winding hills designed to extract maximum grin factor from your MINI. Might even include a stop at the little factory where they make the best ice cream ever. Details to follow. ************************************************** ************************************************** *********** UPDATE 27/6/2006 ************************************************** ************************************************** *********** We will meet at 9:45am for a 10:00am start. Start point (and finish point) is the Fromebridge Mill Pub/Restaurant see here for a map. It is half a mile from Jct 13 of the M5. The run should finish by 2:00pm to allow sports fans of all flavours to indulge their preferences. The pub serves food all day so those less dedicated sports fans can hang around and have lunch. The pub has large grounds with picnic tables so people could bring a picnic if they preferred. There is a toilet stop half way round but there are no opportunities to get a drink on the way round so it might be a good idea to carry a drink with you, especially if its a hot day. Unless its very quiet we won't be able to stop at the ice cream factory because the parking is very limited We will stop at a view point just before we descend the Cotswold Escarpment at the end to enjoy the view across the Severn Valley to the Forest of Dean and The Malverns. Pace notes are here. Its a large file so could take some time to download. For what its worth, here are some Autotroute maps showing the 2 halves of the route ![]() Also for those with Tom Tom satnav, here are TomTom itinery files for the two halves of the route Part 1 Part 2 If anyone needs any help on how to use these, let me know. Offline | Count me and Marie in - bit of a long way to travel from Sheepscombe (bet that will get you checking the maps) but we will be there The lane off the A46 to Sheepscombe (just outside Painswick) is a great lane to travel - also the Butchers Arms do some good food and drink ![]() |

Offline | Hi Alan You are on the list Yes we have Sheepscombe in mind - its a job to know which lane to leave out - could be a long run The Butcher's Arms would be a fantastic place to have lunch. However, we don't know how many MINIs there will be just yet - we might need somewhere with a large car park. Rest assured it is on our list of possibles ![]() We'll probably be starting in Stonehouse but nothing is decided yet. |
