Offline | This sounds great. I actually work on Lucas Valley Road (any guesses for whom) and Nicasio would be a great place to meet or there's the Cheese Factory a little farther out. Awesome driving roads, great photo ops. Rare cops. Anyway, count me in! -John |

Offline | Hello All, First off thanks Minirossa (Dave?) for getting the ball rolling. Oct 19th sounds good to me. I was chatting to my wife about the idea of a bunch of us getting together in SF and she made the obvious suggestion: "Why don't you go over to Lombard Street and see how many MINIs will fit on it at once?" Why didn't I think of that? What does everybody think, if we all drove over there could we get a whole line of MINIs making their way down the "Crookedest Street in the World"? I would make for a great photo... Cooper - British Racing Green/White. Auto Air, Cordoba beige leather, Xenons. Too bad I have to work to pay for it...I'd rather be driving it. |

Offline | Re: SF Photo opportunity? I love the idea, but didn't I read somewhere that after years of protest from residents that that stretch of Lombard had been closed to nonresidential traffic? I probably have this completely wrong or maybe it was just a proposal. Any SF inhabitants know? If it is still open I think that would make an awesome photo! |

Offline | Sejanus, There were some news reports earlier this year about residents asking for restrictions on Lombard street traffic. However, I do not believe this was passed by the Board of Supervisors. I will check with the city & see if there are restrictions. Sounds like a great photo op to me!! Perhaps we could do Lombard Street in August or September? We will probably need to do this early in the morning before the street is besieged with tourists. Is early morning light good for a photo? I'll do a little scouting. Some of my co-workers live on Russian hill. Life is short! Why drive a boring car?! Indi blue/white Cooper;Sport & Premium packages. |

Offline | Morning light is good for photos. From looking on the maps @ mapquest, it looks like that section of Lombard is facing east. I think the morning idea is probably a good one, as I'm sure it gets pretty jammed up during the day. (Although I lived in the City for 1.5 years I never drove down there - so I'm not certain.)Of course, for those who want to come from outside the immediate Bay Area, the definition of "early" might be pretty important... Offline | I did some searches on some local news sites. Lombard street & neighboring blocks is(was?)closed to traffic for the July 4th holiday. The city decided last month to close the street during major holidays. If we plan around a holiday we should be fine?! I will still be sure & call the Dept. of Parking & Traffic on Monday. Life is short! Why drive a boring car?! Indi blue/white Cooper;Sport & Premium packages. |

Offline | Well count me in as long as it is a weekend. I'd be willing to make an early morning drive down, but even better I'll make it a weekend in The City trip so that I'm already there in the morning. |

Offline | I drove down Lombard the first night I had my MINI and almost created a scene as a passing trolley of tourists looked west (towards the MINI) instead of East (down Lombard), annoying the trolley conductor. I pass it all the time and "regular" traffic is still going down it. I think its a great idea, plus I think we could pack 50+ MINI's on it each clocking record speed. |

| MINI2 Regular | This seems a ways off - anyone in San Francisco interested in a casual meet and/or drive any time sooner? Maybe something semi-regular for people who live close enough? Private message me if this interests anyone. -shawna How did you ever get so... |

| MINI2 Regular | I agree with Mini_Girl... We should plan for a sooner MINI meet! What about Saturday August 17th @ 8:30 a.m.? Please keep me in the loop about any decisions you guys make. I'd love to be part of the San Francisco Bay Area Meet & Greet! Juan ![]() MINI... Like all BMWs is also 'The Ultimate Driving Machine'... |

Offline | OK,how about doing Lombard Street on August 17th? Drive the crooked street & then go someplace for brunch. Maybe Delancey Street restaurant on the Embarcadero? Might be foggy, but what the hell! Life is short! Why drive a boring car?! Indi blue/white Cooper;Sport & Premium packages. |
