Offline | San Francisco Bay Area - Meet & Greet I know there are quite a few Mini owners (& soon owners to be) here in the Bay Area. Anyone up for a casual meet & greet in San Francisco maybe in Sept. or October? Hopefully the weather will be warm by then & some more of us will have taken delivery of our Minis. I was thinking of Golden Gate Park, Marina Green or perhaps Mission Rock near Pac Bell Park? I know you're out there! Please respond & feel free to share your ideas. Life is short! Why drive a boring car?! Indi blue/white Cooper;Sport & Premium packages. |

Offline | OK folks here is the latest info. I called the Presido & asked if we needed to register or get permits etc. for the lot near the Parade ground. Basically we need no permits if a bunch of us just show up, park our MINI's and chat. However; the moment we put up signage,a table or do anything "organized" we need a permit. Permit runs $260 plus $5 a parking space; YIKES! Such is the nature of the Presido's bureaucracy. So not to belabor this in the forum; but what are people's thoughts? Is it cool to just meet at the Presido & take it from there; or do something more organized (picnic, rally etc.) at another location? Let me know your thoughts & I'll try to take it from there. mini_girl, Thanks for your kind offer. I would love some help! We can send each other private messages & start working on the details. If anyone else out there wants to help please feel free to respond to this thread or send me a private message. Thanks, David Life is short! Why drive a boring car?! Offline | I went to a BMW 2002 gathering in the Presidio and everyone (36 cars) just showed up. Nothing formal, everyone stood around for a couple hours chatting and checking out each others cars. I suggest we do the same thing. If we tire of talking we can cross the GGB and take the coast road past Muir Beach, through Stinson and up to Point Reyes. All we need to do is decide on a date and time to meet and then play it by ear. ![]() |

Offline | Miniac, That sounds good to me! I just wanted some feedback from people. I was thinking of doing Lucas Valley Road to Nicasio; lots of curves. Rancho Nicasio Bar & Restaurant is a great place. BBQ oysters on the deck!! The fellow at the Presido pointed out that there is a run the first weekend in October. Fleet week is the second. So, how about Saturday, October 19th? Life is short! Why drive a boring car?! Indi blue/white Cooper;Sport & Premium packages. |
