Offline | Starting a Mini club in Pennsylvania I am trying to find out if there is enough interest in form a Pennsylvania Mini club.I have been discussing somethings with Andera(from the Roadfly boards)about getting a club going. From reading some of the threads on both boards(haven't seen much about this topic on the minicooperonline board)it looks like there might be some interest, but nothing has gone anywhere yet.Understandable since alot of people haven't gotten their cars yet.So it's time to start talking. It might be a good time now to try to form a get together.Any ideas? |

| MINI2 Irregular | I'M ALL FOR IT!!! I haven't gotten my S yet, but it's only a matter of days now, so say Don Rosen... Eagerly anticipating... And I'm all for a PA club... would it be based in the Philadelphia area? Perhaps Don Rosen or Otto's would be willing to help... Perhaps first steps could just be an informal gathering someplace, maybe like one of the dealerships, or someplace larger/higher profile like a mall or park, or some attraction point like the Art Museum or New Hope or South Street, followed by a cruise? Also, I know Helix Minisports is located somewhere in the Northeast, and AWE moved up near where I work in Hatboro/Willow Grove... perhaps some tech/install and dyno days could be put together for the "petrol heads" amongst us... Just some thoughts... |

Offline | Count me in! I should get my MCS in October and I'll be ready to roll. Having Helix involved would be great, I believe that they are out of Philly. This is my first post, having been a lurker here for many months I thought it was about time to participate. Offline | new jersey member? I'm in New Brunswick NJ. About 45 min. to Philly, if I obey the speed limit ; ) I'm already part of the NYCity mini club (I don't think they will have problems with multible membership...), and if you don't have issues with out-of-state members, I'd zip down for some get togethers. |

Offline | Eastern PA Club Hey all! I think Oilman and I were thinking of an eastern PA club: Harrisburg to Philly and all points north/south/east and west. I'm in Carlisle, he's in Philly and neither of us has our cars yet! I don't know where the club would be based, but I guess that would depend on the interest! Although, my initial thought is that there is much more going on in Philly! Anyway, with other clubs up and running, we don't want to miss out on too much of the fun! I should get my car by the end of this month. Arc Angel (welcome) in October and lotoole3 any day now. I think we might safely consider something for mid to late October, otherwise we'll be a lot like that Saturn commerical...just a bunch of dreamers trotting down the road! Sorry, just making myself laugh! Johnny, I think the more, the merrier! NOW, I know that it's not a typically PA thing to do, but how about we all try to talk to the MINI owners we see (yes, even the ones we don't know ) and see if we can get them interested. I suspect that a lot of owners don't frequent any of the boards. I've only seen one MINI in Carlisle and wanted to chase it down but, alas, was wearing flip-flops and couldn't risk the injury!! I've got my eyes peeled!! Andrea ![]() |

Offline | Count me in, too! I will participate. My car should be here in the next few days, as long as the VPC quits breaking things on it. I think there are at least 4 other minis in Lancaster already, one of which has also replied to this thread. |

Offline | A meeting up at Nazareth Speedway might be nice. I think they have a SCCA Autocross on October 27. I'd love to take a spin around the track at full speed with my MCS, ahhh to dream... '03 Jet Black MCS - MISSING IN ACTION |

Offline | Autocrosses I may be incorrect, but I understand the autocrosses held at Nazareth are in the parking lot and not on the track. The Susquhenna Sports Car Club is having a fall autocross series. The events are at the Penn National Race Course in Grantville, PA (just north of Harrisburg on I-81). The dates of the events are Sept 29, Oct 13, Nov 3 and Nov 17. I will be in attendance as soon as I have reached my car's required break-in mileage. Links to the autocross schedule and map to Penn National: http://www.scca-susq.com/asccindex.htm http://www.scca-susq.com/asccindex.htm |
