Virginia Fun Filled Fall Foliage and Food Meet

Seth Schmidt ( sschmidt@directoneusa.com ) asked me to post this:

Announcing the first annual Five F's Tour (Fun Filled Fall Foliage and Food Tour)

When: Sunday 10/27

Where: Groups meet at Sterling and Richmond MINI dealerships and also
somewhere East (Checkered Flag?) and West (Lynchburg/Roanoke)?

Groups meet in Charlottesville at 11am for a picnic lunch (Yes, picnic
baskets will fit in your boot!) somewhere on the UVA campus.

Depart UVA at 12:30pm for a 2 1/2 hour (approx. 100 mile) fall foliage tour
with queue sheets and a Map ending in Staunton around 3:00pm with a couple
of short stops along the way.

The big group will break up in Staunton into smaller groups to head home
around 3:30 after an afternoon snack somewhere in Staunton TBD.

This itinerary is subject to change but not the date so mark your calendars.

Finally, I need volunteers from NoVA, East and West to plan routes, put up
flyers at your local dealerships and lead groups from your areas to C-ville.

Email me if interested so I can get an idea of attendance.

Thanks Beau. I'll probably be able to come to this one, since it's much closer that the scavenger hunt.

Don't forget the cute little dog!

Can't make it after all.

Hubby flies off to Maine for a week, so I'm taking him to the airport on Sunday. So I get to miss him and the MINI drive.

And that was the post that Sterling Guy answered that he lives in a perfect world, mid way between a MINI dealer and a brewery.

Pear Cider !!!

Not that I'm a major fan of that but last Friday a group of us from work went to the Brickskeller for fun. For those of you who don't know, the Brickskeller has a menu of over 2,000 domestic and imported beers

One of the folks had a pear cider. I tried it - not bad.

Picked up 12 July 2002. 69,000 rev happy miles Autocrossing in G Stock this year!!!

What a great ride. The idea was to get one with nature and the turning of the leaves. Well I just decided to go a little father in the woods than most. What a view. even thou its not recomended going as far as I did but hey the veiw of the trees was great. oh one finaly thing yes I was wearing my seat belt at the time but it also came undone.

he overcooked it in a turn and went over the edge down about 40 feet or so...

not true. I put a detail list of what happen on the roadfly board. If need be ill rewrite it here. After Mike and Donna of VA had there near Mishap. Me an Seth went on head still at a sprited pace. Since the road was getting really twisty I dropped back from seth so we could have some room and not really push the cars. On the corner where I went cliff diving I shifted down to first going about 25-30 thru the blind left hand hairpin With little to no shoulder room and no guard rail. a truck coming the other way apparently impressed with Seth's car drifted over the double yellow lines and started to go im my lane. With the narrow road to start with my reaction was to allow the outside wheels to drop off the road and into the shoulder so I could avoid the oncomming truck. When the rear wheel came off it pitched the car into a small slide. At that time the DSC kicked in and tried to straighten the car up forcing it off the road. with about two feet short of able to stopping the car it went over the cliff and down aboout 50 feet where a kind tree stopped my decent. For those who dont know I have several years on Racing FWD cars on both Tarmac and Dirt. as well as some Sprint car Driving. Just wish I could say It was that I simply over cooked the car and screwed up cause of MY stupidity. But with Hind site being 20-20 the options I faced were A: Jam the brakes and stopping the car. B: continue with the line I had and hitting the truck C: Let the wheels drop off the road and go around the truck D: Hit the E-Brake causing a neat powerslide and fly the Mini over the cliff. Needless to say I chose C but it didnt quite work out as I expected. Oh and for those who want to add E: Just fess up you over cooked the corner and went flying over the cliff. Its not going to happen cause at no time did the tires leave the ground. To the rest be safe and happy motoring

sorry i assumed. it just looked like a classic case of plowing through a turn. the tracks in the dirt begin where the road began it's turn. just where FWD's begin to plow...i hope everything works out for you...guess it's time to keep it on the track.

Angry The good, the bad and the ugly....

Mugami - Sorry to hear about your accident. Glad to hear you are fine.
We were up there two weekends ago at the Euro Auto Fest and we drove through those mountains. There are some pretty sharp hairpins and yes people like to cross the double line. I took some of those corners really hard and NO there was not room for error.
I hate to read what people are saying about you on roadfly. What Jerks! They seem to think you don't know how to drive and that you are asking for their opinion on what you should've done and I know that is not the case.
Yes people make mistakes! Hello?!?!
