Hi everyone! On Saturday, November 23rd at 10:30am we will be having a drive in Pennsylvania!
It is a 60 mile trek that loops around starting and ending at the Holiday Inn in Morgantown, PA. According our fellow Miniac John Fleischer who is so generously helping me plan this out, we can stop for lunch at Shady Maple Restaurant about halfway through our drive (apparently they have a great buffet!) The journey will take us through parts of Berks, Lancaster and Chester Counties.
The Holiday Inn also has a lounge if the group wants to get together there after the run!

Please let me know if you are interested in joining us.....It should be a fantastic drive!

I love your drives! Count in MINIMiller and MoonPie! DS/BLS baby. Hey, I heard you showed your belly on the scavenger hunt afterall...haha, we know that's not what makes your events so successful, but you are easy on the eyes.

Hooray! I am glad you guys will be able to make it! John has done a great job helping me plan this....it should be a great route!

Yeah the belly came out a little bit...it actuallly got up to 70 degrees! (70 degrees = belly weather)

uh oh, I need to rethink, I just read on Yahoo that there are rates for Morgantown hotels...this is quite a drive, and (gulp) yup I volunteered us for the 24th so we could do the drive on the 23rd...gotta speak to MINIMiller...will let you know for your count LMINI

Slight change in itinerary for the meet on the 23rd....(it doesn't make a big diff...I just thought I would let people know) rather than stopping for lunch halfway through the drive we will go the whole route....regroup ourselves at the Holiday Inn, which is where the drive begins and ends and then head to the restaurant for lunch....(I was mistaken about the whereabouts of the restaurant...it's about 8 miles from the hotel.)

We're staying up at the Holiday Inn on Friday probably so that we will be well rested in the morning and not have to worry about getting up mega-early to drive to PA....if any other out-of-staters need the information on rates (which are really good) or anything else...let me know!

Congrats on the new MINI! I didn't know they were going to make 2003 model silk greens! That is awesome....what a great color choice!

They are stopping making them beginning of calander year 2003. Wish it was sooner, I like having a rare color (one that I think looks awesome too). I like most of the MINI colors but some are just too popular for me to consider.

They were REALLY accurate with my delivery date.....one day later than they originally said....so hopefully they will have yours there when they estimated.

The silk green and black is really sharp....there is a MINI that lives near me that is that same combo. It's great looking!

I have thought about that.....

In case of inclement weather we won't have the drive because obviously we don't want anyone to ruin their cars....we'll postpone it and set another date if that happens.

For all of those who plan on staying at the Holiday Inn at the
Morgantown meet, bring a swimsuit! They have a pool, sauna and a
whirlpool.... woo! lol. Here are the rates...

For one night you're looking at $81.17 for one or two people.
For two nights you're looking at $73.06/night for one or two.

That's the only Hotel in Morgantown that I could find, so I guess
we're stuck with that rate. If we find out how many people are
coming we may be able to get a discount rate.

Actually there are two more....I can't remember the names of the top of my head, but I can post them when I have them.....the Holiday Inn is of course the most convenient because it's where we start from!

I have to check my schedule but I may also be able to attend.

As for hotels - I recommend you also search for hotel prices in Reading and Wyomissing. Both of those are a 15 minute drive from Morgantown. Some of them are cheaper and/or different and you are closer to outlet shopping if that's your thing.

Examples:
EconoLodge - Wyomissing - $62.99
Country Inn Suites - Wyo - $79.00
Hampton Inn - Wyo - $87.00
Lincoln Plaza - Reading - $85.00 (very nice place)

For something different, try the Inn at Centre Park (if you like the B&B thing). I recommend the Blue or Green rooms (see http://www.adriennesinnatcentrepark.com/index.htm).

Can't beat being right by this event I guess, making Morgantown convenient.
