| Now With More Cowbell | Toronto/GTA - a meet before it gets too cold? Just a thought, given this weekend's balmy weather. There can't be many more days like this left in Toronto. Anyone up for it? -CW Global Moderator |

| MINI2 Master | Today, Sunday November 10th, is no good for me as I went to a rally yesterday and my wife will kill me if I have two car events in one weekend. But if this slides into a future weekend, let me know the when and the where and I'll try to make it. Harry MINI Cooper Cabrio: now the car with go cart handling really feels like an open go cart! | Now With More Cowbell | This weekend is off limits to me too. Between the weather and my brother's birthday party, the day is a write-off. I'm trying to think of a place, perhaps with covered parking, that would be ideal. The issue this late in the year is that most shopping malls lots that might otherwise fit the bill are now beginning to fill up with the SUVs of wild-eyed housewives, intent on stocking up on Xmas gifts. I'm hard pressed to come up with another idea - something scenic, perhaps? -CW Global Moderator |

| MINI2 Master | The last meet worked well, IMO, with a meeting in a parking lot first to compare cars, shoot the breeze, etc. followed by a scenic drive on some nice roads. The last drive was more rally than cruise but we could do a scenic cruise instead next time or another rally, or something completely different. | Now With More Cowbell | For what it's worth, the folks from ClubSi's Ontario forum had a Dave & Buster's meet for Xmas of 2000. We managed to get about 30-odd people out for that one. I'd count it among the more successful meets I've been to. Perhaps something like that is in order because it isn't weather-dependent. Of course, a location like D&B isn't convenient for people from Guelph.... -CW Global Moderator |

| MINI2 Master | Where is D&B? Depending on traffic, Toronto is an hour or less from Guelph. Peterborough is just two hours. | Now With More Cowbell | Dave & Busters It's more-or-less at Highway 7 and the 400. A fairly central location to the entire GTA and equipped with a huge parking lot, which is why we chose it at CSi. Moreover, there are plenty of distractions: video games, "adult refreshments", and of course food. The food isn't great, but the portions are generous. I'm certainly not set on D&B; it's merely an idea I'm putting forth. -CW Global Moderator |

| MINI2 Master | That isn't too far at all for me to go. I pass by it every time I go to North Bay, Parry Sound, Killarney, etc. so stopping that soon will probably feel like a short trip ![]() Harry MINI Cooper Cabrio: now the car with go cart handling really feels like an open go cart! | MINI2 Master | The weekend of the 23rd is now out for me too as I'm going to the Rally of the Tall Pines in Bancroft Ontario, which is about an hour north of Peterborough or about 2 hours from Toronto. See http://www.mini2.com/forum/showthrea...threadid=17373 if you are thinking about going! Harry MINI Cooper Cabrio: now the car with go cart handling really feels like an open go cart! Offline | This time of year is usually hard to get things done on weekends. Many people have christmas gatherings from either work or family. I think we might have to wait till the new year. O well. Mid January sounds good. A snow meet! haha.Holy Monkey! Indy Blue Cooper / White roof, wheels / Sport Package / Sunroof |
