| April, I didn't see a list of what states are in what regions, but this is almost the kinda thing that starts civil wars. Kentucky is a border state. Some say South, some say Midwest. Ohio can go three different ways, depending on what part of the state you are in. Personally, wherever the borders are, I would like to see Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana in the same group. I am a member of MiniOKI, and we're trying to keep our folks together in the same club. Thanks MiniYoda IB/IB Cooper, Black Leather, every option except CVT, (plus bonnet stripes, rally lights, aero rear spoiler and floor mats). |

| Ohio trivia I always thought Ohio was part of the midwest for three reasons: The Ohio river, which forms most of Ohio's eastern edge (and southern, too, but thats not the issue here) was the original "border" between the established east and the frontier west. So it has never been part of the "east", and therefor not related to the atlantic part of "mid-atlantic". Related to this is that most of the land west of the Ohio river was turned into farmland, which we associate with Mid-West. On the east side of the Ohio River its all pretty much mountains (such as they are). Finally, the Mid-Atlantic states are all part of the territory of the original 13 colonies. West VA was not one of the 13, but broke off from VA around the Civil War (West VA was pro Union), so is often considered part of the Mid-Atlantic. But Ohio- no way. Tom F. | well, I've seen Ohio refered to as a Mid-Atlantic state, a Mid-West state, and a Great Lake state, depending on who said it, their frame of mind, and their location (Clevelanders treat Cincinnatians differently, for some reason. Those in Cincy think the NE part of the state is too similar to Pittsburgh, while those up north think that Cincy belongs in Kentucky). Since my dealership is in Ohio, I live in Kentucky, and Indiana is fairly related to the two states, I decided to create a club for all three states. That's why I'm hoping that these three are together when grouping regions on MINI2. | Good idea! Didn't they let their river catch fire a few years ago? Kick em outta here! But really, I thought I heard that Louisana did have a bill to secede, but it died in the state congress. Some of the states were hard to decide. Pacific Northwest is obviously WA and OR, but should it include ID? KY is both part of the south and midwest. VA belongs in both the mid Atlantic and southeast. OK, midwest or southwest? See? |

| Thank you for the nomination, COOP! But there are many places much better suited to be the capital than Norfolk. Besides, I think VA tried that once before... Remember in "History of the World, Pt 2", Mel Brooks would squeeze the charmin on the young ladies, then say "it's good to be king!" That queen idea might not be bad... |
