'04 Dragon: Exhaust Shootout

Hello Dragon Slayers!

Friday, April 30th, a bit before BabsWife and MINIclo's Great Chili Cookoff, agokart, greatbear, moorlockx, and I are doing an Exhaust Shootout in the two-tier parking lot by the pavillion. The point of the Shootout isn't so much a competition, but more to record audio and video tracks for online comparison for future exhaust shoppers. So far the following are volunteering:

Nobull60 – borla street
Pilo – UUC
Ryephile – Milltek catback
Minzila – Milltek catback and Milltek header
Koolmini, YuccaPatrol, and Moorlockx – duke it out for Magnaflow
Paddy – Borla on Cooper
Cometgirl63 – Rspeed on Cooper
Mbabischkin – bone stock Cooper
agokart – stock Cooper S
Normalizer – JCW

Reference thread on NAM

We're looking for anyone attending that has something other than listed above.
Needed:
Helix for Cooper
Quicksilver, Borla Race, Scorpion, NRP for MCS (and whoever I'm missing!)

Cheers, and Motor-On!,
Ryan

Red Cooper Race

I will be at the Fontana with Borla Race on an MCS. Bea and I are also fixing Chili, but it should not interfere. Let me know a time. I guess two level by the pavillion is obvious once you are there. I will find you.

We'll also be doing it at the Sat morning dam picture for those that miss Friday.

I'm looking forward to including links for these in the FAQ on MCS exhausts

The Alta exhaust is one you left off the "needed" list for the MCS

Idle & Rev, Drive By and Inside formats for each would be great

MINIAC - drive by's might be possible, however currently I'm thinking of a standardized revving pattern while stationary. I know that the vehicle sounds different under load, however it's the relativism of each system that is the point of this Shootout. Timing and logistics may get in the way of a full-bore data-logging mission for each exhaust, so the test will have to be relatively quick and convenient. The only interior measurement may be a decibel meter measurement during the standardized revving pattern.

So far:
Friday afternoon at Fontana Village at the two-tier parking lot by the Pavilion - before the Chili Cookoff
Saturday late morning at the Fontana Dam, right after the Dam Picture

Cheers,
Ryan

might be more interesting to line the men up across from the various exhausts and see which is louder, man or machine?

Now, let's not get all sexist here. I've known some women in my time that could toot a pretty good flute, too!

And, by the way, the powers that be moved the dam picture to Friday morning before the parade on the Dragon.

When do I get to declare myself the winner in the COOPER Division? ? ? ?

Today, tomorrow, or do I have to wait . . . . .

I'm sure the friendly folks that run the Fontana are going to really appreciate the exhaust shootout!

I'm booking my cabin at Tapoco in advance for the next few years in case we get banned! Ha Ha Ha!
