Hi Gary

Glad to see you made it back to the board OK after your long drive.

And, BTW, are you still planning on attending the Euro 2002?

This sounds great! Memphis is not too bad of a drive from Maryland; I will be there! In addition has anyone considered putting together a "track day" for MINIs at a race course?

Aprilwine maybe we can assemble a caravan of East Coast MINIs making the trip? If nothing else AAA can locate us easier in mass!

I'm game! We'll make a colorful line as we snake along the back roads of VA and TN.

We're still here!

MoonPie and MINIMiller are still hanging around. A drive through snakey twisty roads sounds great. I'll even have some leave accumulated by then!!! Let's get the convoy rolling.

Picked up 12 July 2002. 69,000 rev happy miles Autocrossing in G Stock this year!!!

Fellow Convoy Members

I would prefer to take the scenic route, and maybe make the drive with a sleep over, instead of going the direct freeway route. Thoughts?

I agree. I've never driven that far south, but I don't relish too long of a drive (I remember in my youth that a 10 hour drive day was fun... Not anymore). MoonPie and I would prefer a sleep over - Also, we could all enjoy each others company over dinner that way

Yes breaking the trip up does make things easier. I just made a trip out to Kentucky with the MINI last weekend and it wasn't all that bad. Memphis is just a ways further. There are also tons of great twisty roads out in that area!

Thumbs up Count Me

in. Sounds like a lot of fun. As the time gets closer we can setup the meet points, as the MINI's further north and east get closer to the Northern VA. It is still a couple of months away, but never too soon to start planning the route. That seems to half the fun, the other half is actually driving the roads.....

GO NAVY!!!!
please somebody this year

This will be great!

We'll probably want to stop around the VA/TN border, or maybe even a little farther into TN. Doesn't hurt to do your research early!

MiniMiller, you mentioned leave. Does that mean you have a military background too? Hubby and I are both ex USN.

I never did serve, although I work as a government contractor and my primary customer is the DoD. Also, my company is made up in large part by retired military folks.

Talking Zerofail

Here is the current info on Clyde's this Saturday:

Greetings!
I stopped by Clydes at Mark Center in Alexandria today and finalized
plans. Arvin Nair, the General Manager and MINI fan is hooking us
up! We'll have reserved parking, so I'll need RSVPs by that week, so
I know how many spots to hold (We'll do the best we can to keep all
the MINIs together!) and our own MINI bar, to congregate and order
drinks and snacks. I may even have a couple of MINI goodies as door
prizes, have to ask MINI of Sterling about that! (Be sure to bring a
business card, as we'll have a drawing for at least three prizes!)

Details:
What: MINICCA NCC Meet and Great
When: 12:00 pm Saturday August 24th
Where: Clydes at Mark Center,
1700 N. Beauregard Street, Alexandria, VA 22311
Phone (703) 820-8300

From Washington, DC
I-395 to Seminary Road West, left on Beauregard (2nd light).
Restaurant at 2nd corner on right.

From Virginia
George Mason Drive through Arlington to Seminary Road East, right on
Beauregard. Restaurant at 2nd corner on right.

Please RSVP using the Poll feature on your Yahoo Group Menu!
Hope to see you all there!
Mike

Hope this helps....
