New Mini discount in UK?

My wife wants a small convertible with a powered folding roof. We tried and liked the Cooper S Convertible and are planning to order a new one, perhaps even a JCW. Sytner MINI by email have offered £856 discount off a white petrol manual S with 16" black alloys, heated seats, wind deflector and brown roof. That is without me even visiting them.
Has anyone recently bought a new Mini, especially an S convertible? What discount did you get?
Otherwise can anyone tell me what discount I can reasonably expect to get in these tight financial times?

That actually seems a very good discount compared to what we were looking at. In the end we found a less than one month old Pre-registered car with £3k off the list price - that was from Sytner as well...

It may be worth checking around for any pre-reg'd cars. They are few and far between, but do appear occasionally. Also, managed to get the car through as a new one where the Mini Select finance was concerned, meaning the residual was higher, giving a lower payment.

Thanks for that. It is certainly something for us to consider. We were wondering about ordering it at the end of this year to get this year's price but it then being built in 2012 to be a 2012 car.
