A new Miniist Afternoon all,
Been lurking for a while as I have been getting used to my Mini/getting faults fixed. Now I have all faults fixed, I thought I'd join and show you all my blistering little pocket rocket.
So it's a Mini Cooper S, 2007, R56 with 43,000 on the clock. I bought it from Elms in Bedford.
It's fair to say that I've had a few problems with it. Firstly, advertised as "full service history" as a cherished mini, this just wasn't the case. It had only been serviced once before the dealer "serviced" it themselves. I say "serviced" because after just 1 service at 15,000 miles the dealer didn't even change the oil at 43,000.
The engine had to be de-coked, I'll post some pics of that some time, then the steering rack had to be replaced, now a faulty valve of the front left tyre has been replaced.
So now the faults are fixed, I love the car. As someone who has worked his entire life in QA, a car with faults at 40000 is poor form.
However, to be fair to the dealer they have fixed everything (but not without serious arguing) and given me pointers on the run-flats and what they do to the car when not fully inflated.
So all-in-all, I got a £500 refund on the original price, wheels sprayed black, fully repaired and free mats for the inconvenience.
It now goes like absolute stink and devours corners the way other cars can only dream of.
All the best
