England New guy, ex Scooby owner??!!

Evening guys,

Thought I'd introduce myself, my name is Stuart, I'm 31 and I'm from the North East UK. Recently got into a R53 Mini Cooper S after doing a deal for my old Impreza. I'd previously driven a Cooper S and a JCW and always like the look and feel of the cars. I'm not going to lie its a fair drop in performance but what I've lost in power I've gained in comforts and style and too be honest the Impreza was becoming a none stop money pit. I'm hoping the Mini is a little more kind on the wallet.

Anyway, details on the car:

2002 Cooper S
90k miles (fsh)
Chilli Pack
Sat Nav
Cruise control
Panoramic Roof
Full leather (blue/black)
Standard Audio

Things which needed doing:

Awful noise in the cabin, sounded like a cracked exhaust (fixed, was the rubber gater on the steering colum, it had dropped away letting all the engine and road noise in)
Air Bag light on (have a friend who can reset so will see if it stays off)
Wheels in need of refurb
Rust patch on boot lid just above the number plate trim
Update satnav to latest firmware and maps (CD ordered)
Purchase new interior mats (can't decide on colour as carpets are blue)

Thats it really, overall very pleased with my new little Mini.

I too traded in my Scooby WRX, for an 08 Clubman JCW. Loving it so far. The sport button is lots of fun. Might miss the AWD when the snow comes though.

I missed the AWD and decent tyres today, it had just started raining so ground was greasy and just as I pulled onto a round a bout the TC kicked in and I thought I had stalled it. Needless to say the WanLi tyres are coming off and I've ordered some Falkens!

I had also thought about the snow but we only really get 1 or bad spells of it so wasn't worth keeping the Subaru for that.
