Hi folks.

My partner and I bought our first Mini a couple of weeks back. It's an R56 Cooper S in Astro Black and we love it! Even though I like cars, I know bugger all about what goes on under the hood, but I know what I like the look of.

I've always admired the Mini in all it's forms so we bit the bullet and bought one.

Like others on here maybe, we want to personalise the car to make it 'our own' as such. So we've ordered the JCW Aero Kit, 18" Breyton GTS-R wheels (Hyper Silver) with Pirelli P Zero run flats, and once they're here we're sending it in to the body shop to have it tidied up.

We also intend to blacken out (dechrome ?)the belt line (I think that's what it's called ?), headlight rings front and rear, and also the wing mirrors so there will still be a bit of chrome left on the sides which I hope will compliment the wheels and look ok without looking too chavvy ? :/

This forum looks great and have already found it educational for a complete Mini newbie like meself, so many thanks for that to all the posters sharing their expertise.

Welcome Forcey. I'm pretty much a newbie myself and, like you, have got the modding bug. I've recently put on a JCW front bumper onto my MCS and can't believe how much it's transformed the car's looks. I think you'll love your car even more with the aero kit on.

Good to know the JCW bumper is a major improvement. I'm really excited -sad eh ?

I wish I had the knowledge and skills to do some of the work myself, but it would end up looking cacka.
