DIY Newbie

Hi all my son owns a 2001 Mini Cooper which I convinced him to buy and has so far cost a small fortune in repairs some done by myself and others not the car is great when it behaves but the latest problem is power steering pump failure , as an electrician by trade decided after reading some great threads on your forum to have a go at stripping and cleaning the motor myself , removed was ok until it came to removing the small plug with the three wires as on inspection there did not appear to be a connector to remove this proved to be correct when l three wires pulled out ! Turned out looks like someone has removed before and smashed the plug so they had pushed the wires on the pins and filled the connector with silicon sealant ! My problem now is I do not know the correct order to reconnect the wires to the pins in the connector as I do not have another vehicle for reference and can find no colour photos of the connector in place , if anyone can provide any help with this I would be most grateful before I have to use guess work also if anyone knows where I might acquire a new plug for the connector that would be great too
Thanks for any help
