Electic Blue S New member - hi....r50 cooper

Hi

I have joined the site/forum on behalf of my mrs, who has wanted a mini for 10 years but we couldn't afford one until now. One of her friends from Uni worked on the suspension and steering on them when the new mini was first developed back in about late 2000 i think - he brought a disguised cooper s (complete with all electronic boxes and wires in the cockpit) he was testing for the weekend up to show us and took us for a ride in it - after that she wanted one but has only just got one this christmas, as a present.

Its a Cooper (sept 2004) in electric blue with white roof and mirrors. Done 42,000 miles, exactly what she wanted and she loves it.

Before this she had an Alfa 147 (i have an Alfa 156) - during our 5 years of having alfas i joined a few of the alfa owners websites and have found them to be massively helpful in sorting out problems and getting in touch with people who can help fix things - rather than being screwed by the robots at the main dealerships - im hoping that by joining this mini site and a couple of others it will be the same.

Id also like to know of any events that are local connected to the mini.

Anyhow thats it really - just wanted to put something down as an introduction as I'm sure i'll be putting down a few posts soon as she gets to know the car.

I'm Andy and my mrs is Rach - we live near Bolton, Gtr Manchester so as a starter if anyone knows of any good Mini garages/mechanics or places to have it serviced (or anything of any mini use) in the north west near us that they can recommend then please do so.

Looking forward to exploring the mini world.

Welcome to MINI2 Andy, good choice of colour for the car

I'm from down south so can't help with a good garage for you unfortunately.
