Canada Warning light/electrical problems

Hello all
I am experiencing serious problems with the electrics on my Mini2 Cooper. It was one of the first sold back in 2001.
I have had the car into a number of Scottish dealers over the past years all have managed to correct one problem only for another to appear.
Currently the car has warning lights showing for ABS, Automatic stability control, Airbag, Brake warning light, the speedometer doesn't work, and the run flat indicator comes on and off. There is never a constant pattern ; they are not always on and the speedometer sometimes works.
Is there anyone who knows the name of a good Mini2 auto electrician?
My email is rfsimpson@btinternet.com. Any reply would be gratefully received.
Many thanks. RFS2711

If its got all that wrong with it might be time for a new one, they are doing some good deals at the moment
They even do a half price deal on a Cooper S, now thats got to be of interest to a Scotsman?

Hi ya

Sounds like your body control unit or DME unit is play up.
If you are handy with tool remove the trim right hand foot well check the plugs and connections that go to it they suffer from corrosion. See link below

The BC1 (Body Control Unit) - Forums

I would also say that you may have a problem with engine management (DME)
If its intermittent I think you have a bad connection somewhere.
I would disconnect you battey take of the plugs on you bcu clean/ lub and reinstall do the same with you engine management computer (DME) and engine bay fuse box.
I would also check the fuse box n the passengers footwell to. Make shore there is no water of signs in any of these places. Never hurts to give these areas a squirt with WD40 or a water dispersant/ electrical lub. It will take you a little while to do pretty easy job and might cost you a can of spray.

Hope this helps
