United-States Newbie Question About Oil Filters / Oil Changes

I introduced myself a couple of days ago and now I am having trouble finding any place that can do an oil change since my oil filter is so "exotic" (I think that is the word the oil change place used, ). I finally ordered an oil filter from an auto parts store and will take it with me to get my oil changed. Anyone have advice on how to change the oil filter yourself and do your own oil changes? Te oil filter is not encased like "normal" filters and I am assuming it needs a different wrench. I was going to Google it and find something on YouTube perhaps. Any advice given here will probably help others. Or perhaps someone has already addressed it elsewhere on the forum? I have a 2008 plain ole' Cooper.

Thanks in advance!

Takes about a 32mm socket, check before you buy, or go to Moss Motors or Minimania for the tool. Spin off oil filter after putting towels under it to catch runoff, use a metric hex tool to remove drain plug. No more difficult than any other car. Be sure to oil the filter o-ring and to put back drain plug and fill with correct amount of oil before starting 5/30W synthetic.
