I'm now on my 4th Mini...once a Mini driver always a Mini driver although I get wanderlust everynow and then and think that I want a 'normal' car :-)
All my previous Mini's have been fine (all purchased as Approved Used from the main dealer) but I got my 'new' one from an independant. Had it 3 weeks before the EML came on and I noticed a loss of power. Managed to get it home on Limp mode and its now back at the garage of purchase, who've told me its completely covered by the purchase warranty and that they want to fix it first time for me. They seem to be totally flumoxed as to what it could be...yesterday worse case was the CAT and today its the Turbo. Its 5 years old and has only done a shade over 40k with 1 owner from new. I find it hard to believe it could be the Turbo but then its only ever had 2 major services. Could it be the lack of maintenance that led to this current state, i.e. less frequency of plugs/oil change?
Never had any problems with any of my previous R56 models but sadly don't have alot of faith in this one now. I LOVE driving it and decided to go back to Mini also because of the build quality and reliability. Have researched alot on this forum as to probable cause but would welcome any other ideas....thanks! |
