Hi Everyone! New Mini Cooper S Owner from the UK

Hello Everyone,

I'm David from Wolverhampton, in the West Midlands.

I currently own a Nissan Silvia S15 but with the prospect of travelling over to the Nurburgring in May, i have taken it off the road to prepare it for track action.

That meant it was time to think what daily to get. Something fairly practical, but still a hoot to drive, the Cooper S was always high on that list.

This week I stumbled upon a 2002 Mini Cooper S in Grey, and instantly knew i had to purchase!

Will be collecting her this week, and i can't wait!

I look forward to exploring the site, and getting some useful Mini knowledge from the Forum

Thanks for the Link Jon, i have already tried Matt but he can only supply new spurious unfortunately.

I would prefer a second hand oem bonnet to guarantee good fitment, but every one i have come across in the yards have been frontal damage.

The search continues

I struggled to find a good used bonnet when I was looking to buy a damaged Mini a couple years ago. In the end I managed to get a new one included in the deal with the car, but had to get it painted.

Is your old bonnet badly damaged? Ie: not repairable? It may be cheaper to have your repaired than try and find a second hand one...

Hi there, congratulations on the purchase. Have you had a look on a certain auction website You might find one on there.

Very jealous in regards to the Nurburgring visit... I wouldn't be surprised if you decide to take the Cooper S instead

Thanks for the Welcome guys, and would you believe that from BMW the bonnet is only £230 new (with trade discount) Thought it would be about double that from the main dealer! Needless to say i have ordered it, and she should be back next week. cant wait!
