Hi everyone,
a hearty hullo to all forum members motivated enough to read this introduction
Fond memories of doing silly distances in my mate's beige Mini in the 80s led me to my very own Pepper White Cooper D Clubman in 2003!
The old Mini was rusty, but cheerful and fun and it even faithfully took us over the old road over San Bernardino pass. I'll also never forget the smiles we got from other cars passing us on the Autobahns and at filling stations, while the ghettoblaster on the back seat was playing Madness
The now 5-year-old "new" Dubman is unfortunately damned to >90% Autobahn commuting, but I do give it a hurl around the twisty Eifel roads if and when I get the chance. Job and family are stiff competition though! There's also the Nurburgring not far away, but I haven't "done" that one yet
It's had its niggles, but the Dubman still has to be the car that I've felt most attached to in the last 20 years. And it's a set of wheels you don't see too often around our neck of the woods.
BUT.. a recent breakdown and issues since then have rattled my faith in it and the local BMW dealership. I'll be posting accordingly in the Cooper D forum.
Looking forward to your feedback!
Seb
