About to make the purchase
I hope to be a legitimate member in a matter of days when I actually have the MINI in my driveway.
For anyone who is willing to give me advice:
I unfortunately have to travel 3 hours to buy this car and I have test drove many MINIs and read lots of forums to research my desire. It's a white exterior, black/white interior, 2010 Cadmen with 57K, one owner. Carproof clean, being sold on a Honda dealership lot. Price is about 2k less than here in Vancouver and there is nothing here with the colour scheme I want.
At 4 years, and 57K what are the chances the timing belt will be developing slack. Supposedly well maintained, but haven't seen maintenance schedule.
Is rattling noise the sign you go by, or visual inspection? Thinking rattling means drive straight to garage for repair. Dealer says there's no noise from engine and that they wouldn't sell anything that was going to need an expensive repair anytime soon.
Trying to decide if I need to take it to another dealership near the one where it's sold and have it checked out. Or just buy it and take it somewhere here to have tensioner and chain checked/replaced.
Thanks in advance.
