Australia Hello from a prospective owner :)

Hi All,

Im based in Brisbane, Australia and dont own a Mini...yet

We're looking to get a second hand Mini for my wife to commute and zip about town in and Im joining here hoping to find a community of people who can help point us in the right direction in terms of year / model / interior trim /engine / transmission etc etc... Is this the best forum for new Mini info? (he asks knowingly )

Im a member of multiple Jeep Forums and find it a great resource of info, and always wish I had joined before buying so I could of learnt all the things to look for when buying. New members quite often join and ask the type of questions Im about to ask and get great feedback (sometimes they get the standard "search the forum, somebody has asked that before!" response but Im hoping this forum is a bit less grumpy that the 4wd'ers Im used to dealing with ).

I'll be posting a request of info / feedback in the Aus forum soon. If you think you know your Mini's, and have opinions about whats best... Id be happy to hear from you

Thanks for that, good info.

I think we're going to try to stick to 2nd gen 2007 onwards, but still good background info, thanks.

You dont have anything similar for 2nd gen do you
