MCS KAVS pulley

Just checking a few things over and our mini' suspect charger has a KAVS pulley fitted so I assume its a reduced size pulley.

Should this car be mapped or have different spark plugs fitted?

The pleasures of buying a second hand car with aftermarket parts fitted, still it saves me fitting one!

Hi ya

It will be ok the mini's DME will learn and alter it's fuelling and timing to suit.

The only time you really really need a map is when you start to run bigger injectors, head and cam.
But a map can be a good thing anyway 1320 mini mynes fa53 is the best out there and the guys are good.
If it has a reduced pulley make shore it has a better intercooler, it's ok in this weather but come the summer it will suffer and depending on what size pulley it is could trash the pistons.
There are so many different size pulleys you will need to find out what size, as when you need to replace the belt for the supercharger they come in different lengths. Normally people go for 15 or17% pulley

Spark plugs should be changed to a different spec normally they run a heat range no6 you will need a 7

Hope thus helps

Cheers, it's running cooler plugs as I pulled one out and checked it out on the 1320 site who said it was fine.

My guess is its a 15% pulley! the belt I assume is the correct one (given the change of pulley and plugs).

The Intercooler is standard, but I run super unleaded so get a bit of margin back. I may consider a cooler, but the car 1/2 belongs to my wife so it's not just up to me.

Hi ya .
If it's a 15% you will be ok at the moment but I would get an intercooler it's all to do with inlet temps not so much fuel, soon as it warms up and you start to use the boost more it will take long to recover and will start to cause problem.
These minis run very hot under the bonnet cooling is important.

Save your money up. my advice Air tech from rich at orranje or a GRS motor sport version from graham or if you want to keep it standard looking try and get a secondhand mini GP inter cooler set up

Hope this helps sounds like you got a nice ride :-) enjoy
