well so far i have managed to confuse myself and thats about it.

appears from reading the guide that the best cars to go for are the 2004 onwards built cars.

the issue i am finding is the newer cars seem to have more miles on the clock?
so do i sit and wait for a good one to come along or are the older 2003 53 plate cars ok?

The 1st Gen facelift was effective with July 2004 builds. Getting a facelift model is not that important when it comes to purchasing a (supercharged) Cooper S. A facelift Cooper S will have slightly more (7) horsepower and transmission ratios which provide slightly better acceleration (and slightly less MPG at cruising speed). There was no change in the make of transmission like there was in Cooper models (Midlands to Getrag).
