Switzerland New and Confused

Hi folks,

It's coming up to the first birthday of my Roadster and I decided to treat her to a little present and buy a new rear mount bike rack.

However, living in Switzerland they are a little expensive so I decided to try our neighbours in Germany. The first price was great (about half the Swiss price) but once the dealer found out I was in Switzerland it climbed from 700 to 1100 euros because they need to "reprogram" the ECU.

Having looked around the forum there seems to be no clear answer whether the reprogramming is necessary. Since I don't want to ship the rack from the UK to discover it doesn't work can anyone help me with a definite answer?

ps - I have the 3AR accessory factory installed so mounting points and electrical connection are setup.
