Hi all
Just purchased a 2011 Cooper Clubman diesel, Hampton Edition, Lovely car and great interior, but obviously with buying any used car there are a couple of things that i would want to get sorted ,
There seems to be dirty condensation type stains on the inside of the speedo ,ive read that a couple of people have had this issue ,can this be done diy ,
also there is fogging of one of the headlight lenses,
Regards ,
Col ,

Normally fogging in the light lens is caused by a fault in the seal unit to the lens or the gasket/cover at the rear where the bulb fits in is damaged or not fitted correctly, or the car has been through a deep puddle and got drenched and some water got forced in that way.
Best probably to remove the complete unit and check it out and remove the bulb and put the light somewhere warm to dry out or use a hairdryer, then put it back properly and monitor the situation to see if it reoccurs?
The speedo looks to be a fairly easily removable unit according to the workshop manual, but you need to remove a fair bit of dashboard trim, doesnt say if the lens can be removed to clean it inside, but I would think it can be, you need to get hold of a manual to help you do it I would suggest.
