First off, I'd like to say "HI" to everyone. I have always liked the looks of the Mini, and I finally bought my first one. It's a 2009 Cooper, British Racing Green. I've had it a week, and it's been a blast to drive. This morning, it would not start. It would crank, try to start, and stall out. Ran very rough for the 10 seconds or less that it ran. Any ideas? I'm wondering of it's the fuel pump, or relay. Can;t wait to get it on the road again. I do most of my own work on my vehicles, so I hope this is something I can figure out and fix myself (I'm certainly no mechanic). Also, I would like to ask what year models are 1st gen and which are 2nd gen. Thanks for reading this, and I hope to meet a lot of new friends on here.
Easiest way of telling, Gen 1 cars have the headlights fixed to the engine hood and go up with it when you lift it, Gen 2 cars the headlights are fixed to the body and the engine hood has holes in it that close around them.
Gen 2 cars are 2007 onwards.
Did you get a warranty with the car you bought? if so take it back and let them sort it out.
