United-States New Memeber question

Hello there everyone.
I am new to this forum and need some experienced mini cooper owners advice.
I own a 2010 r56 mini cooper (non S) she runs beautifully but been noticing this clicking/ticking noise when she is idle. It seems to have gotton worse and not sure what to do about it. I do not want to take it to carmax till I have an idea what the problem is because face it I don't wanna be going back and forth 4 or 5 times and the problem persists.
The problem seems to come and go when it is or isn't cold.
If someone could help me out that would be great.

Hi ya

Silly question is your oil level is correct,
If so it sounds like it may be the timing chain tensioner on a valve lifter but with out looking it's had to tell.
How many miles do you have on it

It's really weird because it comes an goes so it could be the oil thats the next thing I am checking. Since it has been coming and going I havent been able to take a video of what the noise exactly is and where exactly it is coming from.
It is deff coming from the left drivers side and I hear it a lot more when I am idling.
My car only has 44,000 miles on it haha which is not a lot. I have taken it for oil changes numerous times and the guys at my shop are awesome and always tell me whats going on up front. They said they have never noticed it and everything is fine.
Gonna check the oil and do all that and ill be back to tell you what has happened from there.
Hopefully it isnt the timing chain or an fuel injector because I had the same problem like that on my first car which was a 2001 ford escape.
Stupid fuel injector

Might just be the vacuum pump for the brake servo, thats on the left side end of the engine at the top, mine sometimes ticks occasionally, and it comes from that and its done it from brand new.

White Cooper Ticking....

Of course "The Nun" is right on with possible noise targeting but I thought I had an odd noise also when I got my 09 HardTop, time showed me that Mini engines are not that silent Toyota or Honda engine.

My buddy who is a service ticket writer for Toyota said "Man this engine sounds F**K UP" I told him it's nothing it's just Mini. His nice quiet little Camry can be all nicey nice as he sees nothing but Mini taillights.

Of course watch your fluids etc like The Nun said!
