I replaced a 99 Miata with 161k miles with a 2011 Mini Cooper S convertible with 14k miles. My wife and I loved the Miata and were not looking to replace it but on Thursday 20, 2014 we followed a Mini convertible down the road and immediately started researching dealers. The next day we drove to Orlando Mini about 45 miles from our home and purchased the Pepper White Mini. Love the car. I am a detail person and I research for days, weeks, and sometimes longer before I buy, but everything was just great with our experience. Looking forward to many miles of fun-in-the-sun touring the USA in the future. My wife and I are both retired and love to travel, so now we will do it in style with our new Mini. I have already purchased a wind blocker which is necessary for the convertible and I wish Mini would make it a standard feature. My next project is to treat the rag top to protect it. I covet the readers of this blog to advise me on the products out there that is best. I will also be looking at the fitted bags that fit the compact truck. Pros and cons appreciated. Happy driving!

Hi there, congratulations on your purchase, I'm sure you will love it.

I managed to get the dealer to throw in the windbreak for me, I told him it was a deal breaker, like you say, makes you wonder why it's not standard.

I treat my roof with Autoglym and it does a fantastic job of cleaning and proofing the roof, I can thoroughly recommend it if it is available over there.

I have seen those suitcases for sale that are made to fit the Mini Convertible boot, they look good, though a little expensive. The only thing that puts me off is that they don't come with wheels.

Hi ya and welcome

+1 on the autoglym but I have personally use 303 products cleaner and protector and have had great results.
The other every good option i use is Gtechniq I1 - Smart Fabric
Be carefully what you use to clean the hoods with they are mohair and can be trashed easily

Hope this helps

Would that be like those Gucci ones and come with Rhino and Snake skin with Roebuck leather, and 9 carat catches with your initials on? Ive seen those in an Aston cost more than the car.
