United-Kingdom Cooper S 07 - Loving my new car ... but

Hi All,

My first time on this site... I read an old 2012 thread and found it very interesting and saw it was very helpful so I am giving this a go.

I bought a mini cooper s reg 07 built in 06. I only picked it up last Saturday and love it dearly... a mini convertible i have wanted for a long long time. I want to learn how to look after her myself... but need to know it is possible for me to fix small problems myself. So... the car is a bit old and a few things are not right. Here is my first problem:

My cig lighter isnt working. I was a little heavy handed and pulled out the whole thing! Did i break it? Can I fix it myself? or should I give it to a garage. I need a new illuminous ring as it broken too (not sure if it was like that - or i did it) where do i get one from? I feel so bad for my car, and now I cant go anywhere as I dont have a place to plug in my Sat Nav... and used that all the time in my old car. Any advise would be really very much appreciated.... BIg Big thank you

As a workaround and if you have a really long cord you can plug your sat nav cable into the cig lighter port located in the boot.

If you have the USB port, you might be able to charge your sat nav from that.
