Talking R56 PDC retrofit

Hey guys, i got my mini cooper sd in about october. Its a 2011 model. Its fully loaded with the jcw, chili and media packs but it doesnt have pdc. Does anyone know where i can get it retrofitted around Manchester? And the rough cost. I ideally want it linking to the visual boost on the screen? Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Mini do an official PDC retrofit kit for your car. I presume it would display on Visual Boost after coding, but don't know for sure.

(Yes, I know the picture doesn't exactly match your SD's bumper - and the PDC sensors go in the very bottom of the bumper.)

The retail price of the kit is £231 plus £86 for a new rear bumper black trim. Then you have to add the dealer labour charge and you need to get quotes from several dealers because they vary enormously. There is a recommended install time from Mini, but there is no need fort a dealer to stick to that, particularly if they have had a good or bad experience of this install.

I would guess the labour is likely to be in the £150-300 range, so a total cost around £500-600. Do you want PDC that much?

If you order and have it done through MINI they will colour code the sensors to match the paint, lots of after market fitments dont do this so I suppose you pay extra for that, but it does look a lot better.
Unless theyre going on the black plastic then it doesnt really matter I suppose.

On an SD, such as my (spotlessly clean) example below, the PDC sensors go in the black trim - which saves quite a bit of money on a retrofit as only the new black trim is needed and not a whole painted bumper.

On another forum, someone posted a copy of the German instructions for retrofitting PDC:

R56 PDC Retrofit pdf

This says the install time is 2.5 hours, so the £150-300 labour cost guess is about right.
