Hi, I am looking for any information which will help me get my leak resolved. I am a female with no mechanical knowledge whatsoever so please forgive my ignorance on car matters.
I bought my Mini Countryman last July 13 and didn't realise there was a leak until February of this year. The leak is not visible but only showed up when the passenger footwell back and front were saturated. The only clues prior to this were that there was condensation on the passenger side windows and windscreen which I thought was due to my not running the air conditioning all the time.
The garage have replaced the clips on the A pillar which they said had failed but the condensation is returning inside the car and also my iPod in the glove compartment had condensation it. The car is back in the garage but they say they cannot find a leak.
Any information from anyone who has experienced anything like this would be gratefully appreciated. Thanks.
Not sure if this will be of any help. But, I had a similar problem in my Ford, no leak could be found, but there is a 'pollen/particle' filter that is associated with the air con. On my vehicle there was a blockage due to this which meant liquid was seaping into the car... In the case of my Ford. The passenger foot area was wettest!
It may not be connected at all, but hopefully will be of some help!
Hi Sue4d777 - thank you for taking the time to reply. The countryman has just returned from 4 days in the garage but they still cannot trace the leak. When she goes in again I will certainly mention that the pollen filter might have a blockage if she continues to leak. Thanks again for your reply.
