Ireland Power Steering Pump

Hey there,

I have a 2003 Mini One which is breaking my heart. I have been through 2 power steering pump units in as many weeks and do not know where to go from here. Should I get an aftermarket unit and if so which one will fit AND LAST or should I try my luck with another used unit.

I really do not know what to do as putting in another used unit seems pointless if the units that came in the Mini One initially are so problematic. I am having difficulty getting any meaningful reply from Mini in Ireland and I'm wondering if they do the work do they just fit a new part which is the same as it has already or do they reconfigure the whole system to fit the newer 2006 part which is not as problematic.

Please help as I cannot drive my lovely car with any confidence until I am certain I am doing the right thing repair wise.

Cheers.

I would think with a new MINI part you get 12 months guarantee with it so that would make sense for a start.

Here's your problem.

Why are you putting in used pumps which are most likely equally as old????

Stop.
Put in a new or reconditioned unit.
