United-Kingdom Gearbox clunky, 2014 Countryman Cooper SD All4

Hi
I'm hoping someone can give me some advice. My beautiful new mini is less than a week old, and I am finding there are a couple of issue that I need to check with more experienced owners. I am due to go back to the dealership on thurs due to a stripe having a large crease in it, so would rather get any other issues resolved at the same time if possible.

The first and biggest is the clunkiness of he gearbox. Compared to the equivalent vehicle which I test drove, mine is very hard to get into reverse, but also very clunky to get into all other gears. Is this normal? If not what should I ask them to check?

The second item is that when I press the unlock button on my remote, I can hear a whirring sound coming from the front of the car, I can also hear this when I get out of my car after driving. It continues for up to a few minutes after I have then locked the car?

I am also having some problems using 'mini connected', is there someone who would mind talking me through it's use as I don't seem to be getting it right. I connect my phone, but can't get minimalism to work... I heard a voice for the 'connected/car' a few days ago, but this hasn't happened since. So I'm assuming the voice is to do with connected? What is this for? And why am I no longer hearing it?

Hope someone can help please?

Got my sd all4 in March and loving it.

Reverse is hard .... Lot of resistance. However I found this in other minis also not just countryman. Other gears I find to be ok in general. Perhaps because it's new and you are adjusting to it? I last drove a nissan and those gears were very smooth and light compared to mini but I kind of like the mini ones more.

The noise sounds like a fan under the bonnet maybe. This would be common after driving and parking but when unlocking the car from being stationary/parked sounds odd.

I am very much a mini novice only having driven two in my life so I am sorry I cannot offer very experienced words of wisdom. However I can recommend joining countryman owners lounge group on facebook if you use it or check out the MINIs on the Mind webpage in which. Kyle Connor and co give great advice and share their in depth knowledge of R60's/countryman
