mini or fiat 500?

Hi guys, i'm new here, sorry for posible spelling mistakes, english is not my first language.
First of all, please DO NOT HATE ME FOR ASKING YOU THIS, i'm asking thre same thing in a fiat forum to be fair.
Here's the thing, i'm getting my very first car and ive got a fair budget for it, arrownd 16k USD wich means i can buy a 2010 cooper or a 2013 fiat 500 both used, used cars are not such a headache here in Chile(my Home country) considerring they are much more affordable than new cars. minis i've seen for sale have arrownd 50.000+ miles on them while i've sen 500s with less than 2.000 miles of use.
I know you all prefer the mini and know it like the palm of your hand, so whi don't you try to convince me?
Older but more powerful mini cooper
Newer and slower 500
Btw i'm 6'3" and fitted perfectly in both when i test drove them.
I live in the city but plan to have at leas 1 surf trip a month wich will be arrownd 3hours of highway dirve.
From outside i love both, but the 500 got me an automatic smyle
From inside i couldn't avoid smyling since the moment i sat on a mini
The mini felt sparkier while the fiat was more equiped
Here are some pics of the model i've been seeing. (Don't know if i uploaded them right but they are a red mini with white roof and 17" white alloy wheels, an all black mini with carbon like 17" wheels and a fiat 500 black jack edittion)

Hello and welcome.

That's a fair question. I drove a Fiat before I bought my Mini. If you're just looking for a car to drive from point A to point B the Fiat will serve you well. If you're an enthusiast and you're looking for a car that gives you incredible sports car handling you will want the Mini. Which ever way you decide to go, good luck.

150 Reasons to Buy a MINI over the Fiat 500
"So the president of FLUCC (Fiat Lancia Unlimited car club) came up with 75 questionable reasons why one would buy a Fiat 500 over a MINI. The reality is we tend to like the idea of the 500 and are looking forward to testing one later this spring. But a list like this can’t go unanswered by the MINI community. So we want you give him double the reasons why anyone should buy a MINI over the Fiat 500. Yes 150 reasons why a MINI is superior. Let’s get started."
