United-States Greetings from Trinity Groves

New member and first Mini Cooper. Just bought an '05 Mini Cooper S with 113k miles. It has quite a few issues to address immediately, so the price was steeply discounted. Works for me, now I have a fun project to keep me busy for a while!

Initial repairs needed:
  1. Lower Control Arm Bushings
  2. Shocks
  3. Strut Towers are mushroomed slightly
  4. leaky Head Gasket
  5. leaky Power Steering Pump
  6. leaky Crank Shaft Sensor
  7. manual shifter feels heavy/hard to shift

And she'll need cosmetic refreshing with new floor mats/carpeting, new seat covers, upgraded rims & tires, and definitely needs an upgraded sound system.

My first question is how much of the above list should I tackle as a single project in my garage? I'm tempted to pull the engine and transmission immediately in hopes that it will reduce overall maintenance repair time by making all of the suspension components and gaskets easier to access.

Wish me luck, and if you've tackled the above issues before, please share your wisdom!
