Hello good evening and welcome!

Hey all - well I'm an almost MINI newbie - got a deposit on a car but not sure now...

Currently a BMW 1ner owner - have loved the BABYBMW Forum good fun, very knowledgeable and helpful.

I have a 120d SE - had it remapped, M Sport Suspension, BMWP Steering Wheel, Gear Knob, Handbrake, Bumpers, HK Tweeters - you must know the drill - trawling eBay for those illusive bits and bobs - then hiding them from the missus!!!

Trouble is I'm just not using her enough so its cash tied up and a car that should be flexing its muscles much more...so looking for an affordable run around.

I've found a 2003 Cooper - Black with White roof, 17" Crowns, Heated Leather, 6 CD, 55K...big problem is someones told me the gearbox is a piece of pooh and I need to go for the mid 04 gertag facelift...

Now I cant find a decent Pan Roof version so I'm considering a Convertible...budget Ł5K - desirable - Black, Heated Leather, Air Con, CD, HK, Bullets (just what everyone wants ie everything!!!)

I'd love the Hooligan Cooper S but it defeats my objectives ie low running costs / insurance...

All advice would be welcome...over to you the knowledgeable!

I am the new owner of an 07 convertible and I love it. No mods yet, will most likely need to be paid for before that happens but what a ton of fun in a car.

I am in the US, mine is an auto, but fun to use the paddles/sport box when I am on the twisty stuff.

Still not sure how it is going to be in the crappy midwest winter but I guess I will find out in 7 months or so.

Go for it, you will love the mini.
