Bought my gf a mcs

Hi all new to the forum, bought my gf a mini cooper s convertible as she crashed her old car 2 weeks ago so thought id suprise her.
She loves the car but misses her usb/bluetooth headunit she had in her old car. She picked a headunit at halfords last nite and dropped off this morning to be fitted. 8 hours later they still cant get it working, is it somthing to do with the standard sat nav system? Thanks.

You can't change the head unit if sat nav is fitted as it needs the standard unit to play the sat nav voice (aftermarket units won't have the necessary inputs).

You can get aux inputs ranging from 3.5mm jack plugs to USB, iPod and Bluetooth interfaces (Dension Gateway) to fit to the standard head unit.

If you have the KH upgrade it makes it very difficult too.

And it also has the hk upgrade, but just spoke to her she would prefer the bluetooth headunit for her music and answering calls etc, than the sat nav voice. So can it be fitted and just not have the sat nav voice? Thanks.

You can do away with the sat nav voice, but not sure about the KH though as the standard head unit only has 4 "speaker" wires (or mine did I'm sure) that feed the amp.

Cant she just stop to make a call? thing is all these gadgets take your mind off what youre doing and you end up crashing the car if youre not careful.

Sorted it now, have to keep the standard headunit like k3fus said, just bought the new parrot hands free and that can play music through bluetooth. Cheers guys.
