United-Kingdom Mini r56 failure

Hi to all the other mini lovers. I know sometimes a mini is a love hate relationship but a the moment i seem to be on the verge of a divorce so if anyone could possibly help with counselling I would much appreciate your input thanks.

Hi all I have managed to join the mini2 forums. I have owned my mini r56 from new its warranty has just run out. Over the weekend i starting to hear a knocking noise on the chain tensioner side. So I called bmw who can only fit me in on the 12/6 which ok fine with but what am I going to do in the interim they told me if it fails then I would have to contact my recovery service! Ok! So I'm on my way back from just picking up new wheel bearing. I open my passenger door to put new bearings in and shut the door to find window is staying up which meant door wouldn't close correctly thinking nothing of it i tap the window and it goes in correct, I then get in the car and find same thing with drivers door! So I decided to use the key to bring the windows down a bit. Start the car and pull away when I notice my lights where off (which was strange because I never turn them off) so i turn the lights on thinking they where off and they turned on, I looked at the lights and it was showing them off. What the hell is going on so i try put the windows back up nothing. I indicTe to pull in indication has to be now fully engage to indicate and can't be disengaged until I turn. MY CAR HAS GONE CRAZY! Does anyone have any advice.

You could try disconnecting the battery for a few minutes and reconnecting it to see if the system will do a reset?

I assume your battery is a good one still? no discharge/starting problems? as the MINI electrics can go haywire if the battery voltage drops below a certain level?

Oh why are you putting wheel bearings in the passenger door, shouldnt they go on the axle? ha!

I did this numerous times even when green flag came out. Today I have been on the phone with bmw today and was informed there is a sensor near your feet drivers side that control all your lights ect they also informed me that they will be looking into the engine knocking noise so I will update tomorrow. Thanks nun
