I have a 2009 Cooper Convertible - which too be honest has taken me time to get used to. This is my third mini and a longed for convertible. I am getting used to the harsh drive and gradually learning to love the car. One irritating thing is when the drivers window is shut and driving over rough roads the window vibrates but not when its open - any ideas how to resolve it. I have mentioned it to the dealer when in for service but they never seem to resolve it.

When you say the window vibrates, do you mean it is squeaking against the seal on the hood?

If so, the trick is to stop the movement between the glass and the seal, not to try to lubricate it. The official solution from BMW (invented for the back doors on 5-series, apparently) is to remove anything from the seals using their silicone remover - not cheap even for a small bottle, but it works really well.

The idea is to get the rubber seal to stick to one place on the window and for all the flex to take place in the seal, and not by the seal sliding (squeaking) over the glass. It works. Re-apply every year or so to keep the seals un-squeaky.
