Hi ya and welcome

Few questions
Does the engine idle ok and when you blip the throttle it responds.
What has the fuel consumption been like
When you are trying to push it past 30 is there any abnormal noises
Is the car worse when it's hot or cold
Did bmw run a diagnostic on it

I think if it was me and all the basic stuff has been checked and the car is in a good service state. Ie all filters, oil etc

I would be looking at the fuel system, fuel pressure regulator vacuum pipe, fuel pressure and flow check then I would be looking at the fuel pressure regulator, then depending on how I got on there would depend on what I would do next

If all that was ok and there was do diagnostic errors, I think I would check the throttle body, compression and then the catalytic converter

Hope this helps

Hi I would also recommend check the ignition coil tower, this can corroded on the rear tips and cause a power problem and this can be over looked.

Also if that's one I would be looking into fuel side on a car that age you could have a bad injector or as someone else has comment a bad fuel reg. so check down that side of faults

Replaced battery in my 2004 R50 Cooper last year. 55 000 km. Had started ok but had been a little sluggish up small hill in town. Then tried a charger cord and it just all flashed battery flat. Left car couple of hours and it started (phew) and drove home and organised new battery.

Is your car on original battery? as probably due for new one.
