***waves***

Evening all.

I am now on my second MINI in 11 months.

The bad news is Ruby Cooper's engine management light revealed rather catastrophic issues with her engine. I declined to pay out the estimate for repairs and the MINI dealer gave me a fabulous price to part-ex her for a 2011 Cooper S D (is that a sacrilege having a diesel Cooper S?)

I think I might have shocked a few people for having a major meltdown at having discovered my old Cooper had a Pug engine. I should have researched more and perhaps not been so disgusted when the penny dropped! I'm not a fan of Peugeot and had stupidly assumed I was buying a BMW engined MINI.

Soo…that's why the Cooper SD …. BMW engine!

New MINI is called Roscoe and is pepper white with black roof/bonnet stripes/mirrors and wheels.

Mid-life crisis! :-)

I don't know how many and which type.

My old one was a 2007 plate standard Cooper, not Cooper S.

Google or Wickipedia may help. There's plenty of them about, so I was just unlucky really, but still disappointed to find out it was a Peugeot engine. When I first complained it smoked and was using a lot of oil a main Mini dealer even told me German/BMW engines are known to be thirsty for oil (Which is since quite funny given my engine was clearly neither and not normal!)
