Australia New Member Australia- Clubman S Chilli with Super Knock Error

Hello Everyone.

Firstly - cant put a picture up at the moment as I don't have my MINI
its in the Mini garage.

I bought my new mini in Jan 2010 - Cooper S Clubman Chilli - Laser Blue
waited months to get it and love her, She has nearly 70,000km on the clock.

however I have had so much trouble and now the SUPER KNOCK error is the last Straw, Its not the first first time I've have had major malfunctions on this car. I broke down again this morning on the way to work in the middle of road works and had to get towed, and now MINI is at the worthington BMW dealer on the Central Coast NSW. - By the sound of this error - its a common problem worldwide.

Has anyone in Australia also had this problem - I took MINI to an alternative repairer who has given me the list of error codes - they are
2D52 DME Super knocking, 2DCB full shutoff due to super knocking in cylinders 1, 2 and 4 and error additional mixture adaptation.
I'm emailing the report to MINI garage this afternoon.

Will put up a picture soon, Thanks Tracy

Hi,
Finally have my mini back today, after breaking down in the middle of some major roadworks on my way to work on last monday morning, after being towed to my local mini garage, I already knew the problem, - the Super knock - timing chain, lucky I had a print out of the error codes from another repairer, and had been making some research into the problem, So BMW/ Mini covered the cost of $1800 parts and I had to pay $1600 in labour costs. I just hope MINI doesn't develop anymore problems, cause this wasn't the first, Ive had a few major problems and I really dont want to part with her, or loose confidence in the car.
