Emv and check engine light

I have an 08 Mini S convertible and I notice that every time I exceed about 4500 rpm the engine looses power the yellow ck engine light and eml light come on. If I turn off the car the yellow ck engine light stays on but I again have power as long a I stay under 4500 rpm. After several days the ck eng light does of off till I again exceed 4500 rpm. Any thoughts? Thanks so much.

First thing I would do would be to get a diagnostic reader to check for fault codes

Same Problem

I am having the same issue with my 2010 MCS and am looking for a solution as well. I have hooked the car up to an OBDII scanner and it shows no stored or pending fault codes. Even with the yellow engine light on I do not notice a loss in power but I would like to correct this issue. Anybody have an ideas?
