Hi
I'm new to the mini forum and wanted to ask a question about the performance of a Mini. I leased a 2010 Boxster (not an S model) and enjoyed the experience. My only negative note was the 0-60 performance which was 5.9 sec. As silly as it sounds, when I drove my friends "S" edition, that one second difference seemed to really make a difference. Although I have not driven a Mini yet, my research shows the fastest 0-60 time is 5.9 sec. Are there any practical modifications I can do that would get me around the 5 sec 0-60 range? My two concerns would be not voiding the warranty and draining my bank account. Any comments and advice would be greatly appreciated. I'm excited to join this forum and look forward to some great interaction!

The F56 JCW coming next year with 230bhp should be the fastest MINI ever but I doubt it will do 0-60 in 5 sec flat. Getting that speed (if even possible) would probably require some extensive engine mods which aren't going to be cheap or drivetrain warranty friendly.

Besides MINIs aren't about going fast in a straight line ... they're about handling.

If you want sub 5 seconds best to get super car really, something like a BMW M or even better an Aston Martin thats what I would do.
Sub 5 seconds and not draining a bank account arent two words that go together really.
