Fuel Hose Leak

Hi all, This site is awesome & everyone on it is so helpful & smart!

My 2003 Mini S has a fuel hose that is leaking gas bad. I am not sure how the fuel lines run, but there is the steel fuel line comes up from under the car goes up against the firewall (on the passenger side) then is connected to a rubber fuel hose that goes to the engine.

Right after where the hard line connects to the rubber hose where it kind of angles (or elbows) from going up to sideways. The fuel is leaking out really bad just passed that elbow part when the car is running or the fuel line is pressurized. I have not driven it since I noticed it was leaking.

I have attached 2 pictures, the leaking part is just before where the hose goes over the aft passenger side engine mount. In 2nd pic you can see the crack right before the reinforced rubber flare (about 1 inch after the swaged part.)

Help! Any ideas? It looks like to change this fuel hose is a big job. The fuel hose goes disappears somewhere under intake manifold. Plus, it looks like the fuel hose is swaged on to the hard line by the firewall.

Has any one had this happen to them? I searched threw all the Forums & no luck. Has any one ever cut the bad part out then put a splice in the fuel hose?

I am open to any ideas. I was hoping to fix it myself, I dread the thought of towing it to Mini & having them fix it. $$$ Yikes! I also have more pictures if needed for ideas. Sorry for the long post. Thank you for your help & for reading my post. Have a good day!
