Can anyone suggest a fix for this fuse blowing. I have disconnected both mirror motors and the mirror heaters and the fuse still blows with no load on it. Wondered if a faulty switch could cause the problem.
Cheers.
Also does the washer jets and interior mirror.
But a possible area might be the wiring to the washer jets, opening and closing the bonnet over the year could have fatigued a wire or maybe one has become displaced and trapped/cut??
Thanks. Would that mean one of the other items mentioned wouldnt operate? Everything else seems to operate.
I will check them out
Thanks for your help, much appreciated.
A fuse cant blow with no load on it, its the excess load that causes it to blow.
You mean it blows with nothing obvious turned on to your knowledge?
But the washer jet heater supply you wouldnt know whether they were on or not really, unless it was icy weather, theres no switch for them??
Of course it could be a wire fault on the way to the components from the fuse before the supply reaches the mirrors say, such as where the wiring harness goes though the flexy conduit into the door, wiring can fatigue at that point due to the opening and closing of the doors over time??
Disconnect the mirrors then using a circuit tester check the continuity of the wires to see if its earthing anywhere on route, it sounds like it might be??
Thanks nun.
Fault located to front washer jet heaters as suggested. I have replaced the jets now all working ok. Cheers ?
