need help to purchase cooper S

Hi everyone, I am looking to purchase a cooper S (190) in the next month or so, any advise would be great, what to look out for and where is best to look.

I have been looking around on autotrader for a while and there are loads of them, just want to make sure I can get the best car for the budget I have which is around 5K

any pointers would be great

thanks in advance

The basics are covered by Modmini on YouTube where he does a video for the Gen 1 Mini, a car is a car. What I would try to do is obtain the VIN# of the car and see if a Mini dealership can pull any records of the Workshop history (if it has had any dealership repairs done), not the service history as this only shows oil change and basic inspections. A Workshop history will show all repairs and service recalls. Your own visual inspection and yes you will need to get under the car should give you an indication of its condition. If its a private sale, ask for records and receipts for any work done as proof.

Best advice I can offer is stay away from a Generation 2 unless you like spending money, get a supercharged Generation 1 if its's an S you want. The R53's sound better and the power is there the second you hit the loud pedal, plus they are much more reliable!
